Management bonuses ‘damage BBC reputation’

25 July 2008 - 7:00am

The Radio Magazine: A BBC radio producer has used the corporation’s in-house magazine to rail against the latest round of pay rises given to the BBC’s executive board.

Daniel Edwards, an assistant producer for the CBeebies Radio strand on digital station BBC7, said: “The reputation of the BBC is earned by the 17,000 people involved in creating great content. It is too easily damaged by the nine leaders at the top.”

The BBC Audio and Music branch of broadcasting union Bectu held a protest outside Broadcasting House last week in protest at the executive pay packets.
