Making sure visual radio doesn’t become ’shit TV’

11 July 2008 - 7:00am

The Radio Magazine: A group of radio technology experts has warned of the danger of poorly-executed visual radio.

The E4 Radio head of programmes, Sam Steele, said: “The danger with visualised radio is that we might throw the baby out with the bath water. How do you add pictures to it without turning it into shit TV?”

The GCap head of creative technology, Nick Piggott said: “We need to do something to make radio more compelling on modern media devices.

“If you are running a website, you can visualise radio. This journey has to start somewhere.”
