11 July 2008 - 7:00am
The Radio Magazine: GMG Radio has said it hopes the return of Chris Tarrant to the radio after four years’ absence will demonstrate commercial radio’s serious desire to compete with the BBC.
Speaking at the Radio Festival, the GMG Radio group programme director John Simons said: “He’s bringing more awareness to our radio stations.
“There’s no point in us worrying about the BBC doing its job well. We’ve got to try and do our job well.”
